What to do, step by step
- Open Transport in Alipay
In Alipay, find Transport (出行); select the city you are visiting.
- Find the local Bus code
In the Beijing example, choose Bus → View cards → Activate the local bus code, and finish the in-app checks. City-specific options may differ.
- Scan when boarding
When boarding, present the active code at the designated bus reader. Listen for confirmation and follow driver instructions.
- Check whether another scan is needed
Some routes require tap or scan on exit as well, depending on fare system; check onboard signs.
